How to Use the Buoyancy Calculator
Step 1: Enter your body weight in kilograms. This should include all gear except your weight belt.
Step 2: Select your wetsuit thickness from the dropdown menu. Thicker suits require more weight.
Step 3: Choose water type – salt water is more buoyant than fresh water.
Step 4: Enter your target dive depth in meters. Buoyancy changes with depth due to pressure.
Step 5: Click “Calculate” to get recommended weight. Always test in controlled conditions before diving.
Safety Note: This calculator provides estimates. Always perform a buoyancy check with a buddy and adjust based on personal factors like body composition and equipment.
